Predicting the outcome of the entire 2019 NFL Playoffs
NFC Divisional: Chicago Bears (3) at Los Angeles Rams (2)
Four weeks ago, the Bears embarrassed the Rams. Los Angeles, which averaged 32.5 points per game in 2018, was held to only six by Chicago’s outstanding defense, forcing Jared Goff into arguably the worst game of his young NFL career.
That isn’t going to happen again, and Sean McVay will make sure of it.
Especially in the friendly confines of the Coliseum, the Rams will look like a completely different team compared to their pitiful Week 14 effort. Goff will come out slinging it, putting what’s been a sensational Chicago secondary on notice from the get-go. Todd Gurley will be his usual beastly self, bulldozing any poor soul who dares stand in his way.
More importantly, though, the Rams will drop the hammer on Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears’ young gunslinger has crumbled at times this season, and having Aaron Donald breathing down his neck will force a similar performance. With turnovers aplenty and sacks coming early and often, Chicago will have a hard time putting any points on the board.
After the way the Bears cruised into the playoffs, this one will be a shocker. Without their Soldier Field fans to urge them on, Chicago will get smashed by the Rams and their high-octane offense. That means yet another shot at revenge for Los Angeles in the NFC Championship Game.
Prediction: Rams defeat Bears
