Predicting the outcome of the entire 2019 NFL Playoffs
Super Bowl LIII: New Orleans Saints (1) vs Baltimore Ravens (4)
Here it is — the big daddy of them all. Super Bowl LIII is set to get under way on Feb. 3, and my predictions have led the Saints and Ravens down to Georgia to square off for their shot at the Lombardi Trophy.
Both teams have been to the Big Game once in the last decade, and each walked away victorious. However, based on the way this season has gone, the battle between the two should be even more epic than either of those previous Super Bowl performances.
This game would essentially pit the defensive-minded Ravens against the offensive explosion that is the Saints. At the same time, both possess a fairly balanced approach, with the New Orleans defense taking a big step forward this season while the Baltimore offense has thrived since Jackson took over under center.
As balanced as it may be, I’m leaning towards the Saints to win it all.
I’ve already mentioned this, but Brees is in the middle of another epic campaign. With the help of his plethora of deadly weapons, the veteran quarterback has played some his best football. Going up against the Ravens defense won’t be easy, but his experience and poise in big moments will serve him well in Atlanta.
Plus, I just don’t think Jackson is ready for this grand of a stage. Only a rookie and still working out the finer details of being an NFL quarterback, the Ravens’ young signal caller will suffer his fair share of setbacks. Ultimately, it may be those hiccups that put Baltimore down for the count.
Either way, it’s sure to be an excellent showdown between two worthy opponents. When the final seconds tick off the clock, though, the Saints will be ahead on the scoreboard.
Prediction: Saints defeat Ravens
