Predicting the outcome of the entire 2019 NFL Playoffs
NFC Divisional: Seattle Seahawks (5) at New Orleans Saints (1)
Boy would this be quite the intriguing matchup. A preseason Super Bowl favorite hosting a team most assumed would be near the bottom of the standings by season’s end. You better believe the Seahawks and Saints would create plenty of sparks if they went head-to-head.
But the real question is who would walk away with the W? Well, if I had to guess, I’d say it would be the Saints. As much momentum as the Seahawks would have at this point in time, it simply isn’t going to be enough to topple the powerhouse that is New Orleans.
There are two things that lead me to believe this’ll be the case. The first is that the Saints own one of the very best run defenses in the NFL. The ground game has been the Seahawks’ go-to option in close games, and New Orleans is simply going to nullify that. When Wilson is forced to take over, the Saints release the hounds, taking advantage of Seattle’s less-than-stellar front five.
Second is that, well, New Orleans has Drew Brees under center. The ageless wonder is having an MVP-caliber season, looking arguably as good as he ever has despite his 39 years of age. He won’t have too much trouble carving up a young, inexperienced Seattle secondary, booking a trip to the NFC Championship Game along the way.
Prediction: Saints defeat Seahawks
