Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys: 5 X-factors for Wild Card Round
By Randy Gurzi
4. Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks
The Cowboys and Seahawks mirror one another in strategy. Both play tough on defense and base their offense around controlling the clock. Chris Carson has been their No. 1 back all season and while he doesn’t get the praise other top backs do, he did put together a solid season for the Seahawks.
A bruising back at 221-pounds, Carson rushes for 1,151 yards and nine touchdowns for Seattle. He’s a guy who gets the most out of every touch mainly due to his incredible effort he gives on every single play.
Heading into this game, the Seahawks will be needing a heavy dose of Chris Carson. He’s going to be going up against one of the better rush defenses in the NFL, but they did show they can be beaten down the stretch. In their 23-0 loss against the Colts, Dallas was gashed by Marlon Mack who had 139 yards on the ground.
Mack was able to keep the defense off balance and wore them down. In Week 17, Saquon Barkley also had a great game as he ran for 109 yards in a game where the Giants put up 35 points. If Carson can have similar success, Seattle could do very well in this game.
