Round 4: Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston

With their fourth-round selection, the Ravens add a young cornerback to groom as a potential replacement to Brandon Carr. While Carr has been an underrated free agent addition, he’s going to be 33 years old next season.

Isaiah Johnson spent four seasons at Houston and proved to be a solid corner for them. He’s a huge corner at 6-foot-4 and 203-pounds which makes him a great fit for the Ravens who like big, physical corners. Johnson had his best season this year, recording 66 tackles and two interceptions.

Round 5: Darnell Savage, Jr., S, Maryland

The Ravens stay in state for their fifth-round selection, landing Maryland safety Darnell Savage, Jr. Brandon Carr has been a great find at corner and he isn’t the only free agent pick up who has been great for them. Eric Weddle has been even better for them at safety, but he’s also nearing the end of his career.

Savage may not be a replacement for Weddle, but he’s a guy they can use as a depth piece behind him. In four seasons with the Terps, Savage had 182 tackles and eight interceptions. Baltimore is a great defensive team and continually adding talent like this is what keeps them strong on that side.
