Just two weeks ago, the Baltimore Ravens went out west and took care of business against the Los Angeles Chargers. Their 22-10 victory over the Chargers was a statement win that helped propel them into the postseason. In the AFC Wild Card Round this weekend, Baltimore will play host the Chargers as they look for a repeat performance from Week 16.
The Ravens are on fire going into the playoffs, winning six of their last seven games. Baltimore has been led by rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson in those seven games, completely revolutionizing their offense in the process. Jackson is a talented player with a lot of upside, but he has a lot of work to do as a passer.
With Jackson and running back Gus Edwards in the backfield, the Ravens have a dangerous rushing attack right now. Add that with their elite defense (NFL-best 292.9 yards allowed per game and second-ranked scoring defense), and the Ravens are going to be a tough out for any team.
The Ravens are undoubtedly tough, but do not count out the Chargers in this game. Philip Rivers has a lot of big-game experience and has been absolutely fantastic this season. He is a rock-solid veteran quarterback who has a lot of dynamic weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Even though the Ravens’ defense is loaded, guys like Keenan Allen, Melvin Gordon and Mike Williams could easily give them fits.
