The Chicago Bears welcome the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles to Soldier Field on Sunday for a massive NFC Wild Card Round matchup.
In what easily could turn into the most competitive game of the weekend, the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in the NFC Wild Card Round. Both of these teams are legitimate threats on the NFC side of the bracket, despite getting to this games in extremely different ways.
The 12-4 Bears dominated the NFC North this season, locking up the division in a Week 15 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles, on the other hand, had to win their last three games (and five out of their last six) to just sneak into the playoffs as the final wildcard team in the NFC. In fact, they had to rely on Chicago to take down the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17 to even get into this position.
At 9-7, the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles have had an un-and-down season. They undoubtedly have top-tier talent on both sides of the ball, but Philly struggled to consistently put together strong performances until they absolutely had to down the stretch. Once again, the Eagles appear to be hitting their stride at the right time, with backup quarterback Nick Foles leading the way.
The Eagles offense has been impressive since Foles took over in Week 15. We saw what he could do last postseason and a repeat performance would not be shocking. That being said, this Bears defense is far-and-away their toughest challenge yet.
Chicago is loaded with talent at all levels of the defense. Khalil Mack and Eddie Jackson have made big plays all year long, but they are far from the only playmakers for Chicago on that side of the ball. Akiem Hicks, Leonard Floyd, Roquan Smith, Kyle Fuller, the list goes on and on. Simply put, the Bears have the best defense in the NFL. Pair that with a fun and exciting offensive unit and they are a tough team for anybody to beat.

As the home team, the Chicago Bears are obvious favorites in this game. However, do not count the defending champs out. Foles has the offense rolling again and the Eagles defense has the ability to make Mitch Trubisky’s life very difficult. This will undoubtedly be an exciting matchup between two talented squads led by two brilliant modern NFL coaches.
