Cleveland Browns: 2019 7-Round mock draft, Vol. 3
By Peter Smith
The Cleveland Browns season officially completed, the first look at a 7-round mock draft where they will actually be picking this year.
The Cleveland Browns are in the process of hiring a new head coach after Gregg Williams and Freddie Kitchens launched a campaign to kill their draft position. After being in the top five picks, they now officially sit at 17th pick. Perhaps they also derived some benefit from player development in the success building confidence for the future.
Whoever they decide to hire to be their head coach will impact what the team is looking for in the draft. The positions are unlikely to change but the types of players for those positions could be altered slightly. Nevertheless, productive players tend to be good football players and that data as well as the tape are largely available.
Production is established for the year, so that is now set in stone and it’s about looking into the productive players and evaluating their film to see what matches up and what those players have to offer. The athletic testing will change things, but the early returns on this class look promising as the underclassmen come pouring in with a little over a week to go before that list is final.
Although Fanspeak.com was used as a framework, multiple players in this mock were unavailable in there, so it couldn’t be used to show how the draft got here and the options not taken. That fact alone may say plenty about the depth of the talent in this class.
So with all of that in mind, let’s see what the Browns got for their haul.
