25. Philadelphia Eagles: Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama

Somehow, the Philadelphia Eagles made the playoffs this season despite it looking like they would be out of the mix following a second defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys. It looked even more unlikely they would go into the tournament when Carson Wentz was ruled out with a back injury and Nick Foles took over. Once again though, Foles led the team to a few wins and they got the help they needed to squeak in.

They may not have needed so much help had they gotten a couple of wins in close contests earlier this season. The Eagles lost late in games against the Tennessee Titans as well as the Dallas Cowboys. In those losses, the culprit was a struggling secondary.

Here, they try and add more talent in the back end as they take Deionte Thomspon out of Alabama. Thompson has been used in a multitude of ways by the Crimson Tide and he’s shown an ability to play in run support while also being an effective deep coverage safety.

Philadelphia can use some help all over the defensive side of the ball, but Thompson’s youth and fresh legs could really be a benefit to them in a centerfield type of role.
