27. Oakland Raiders (via Cowboys): Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

Trading Amari Cooper to the Cowboys for a first round pick after six games didn’t work out well at all for the Oakland Raiders. First of all, Cooper really took off in Dallas as he had 725 yards receiving and six touchdowns in just nine games. Secondly, he helped them turn things around as they went from a team destined for a top-10 pick to the NFC East Champions.

Their compensation for Cooper falls even more now as Dallas defeated the Seahawks in the first round of the postseason. In that game, Cooper again showed up with 106 yards receiving on seven receptions. While Oakland expected to be picking much higher than this, they do at least find a talented player when they’re on the board as Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is still on the board.

Putting him and Josh Allen — their first pick in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft — on the same defensive line will do wonders for their defense in 2019. They may not be able to add as many elite players as they hoped from their trades, but they are adding legitimate talent with players who can start right away.
