2019 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen rises in full 2-round mock
By Randy Gurzi
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama
For some reason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to stay committed to Jameis Winston under center. It’s odd because he entered the NFL with some serious red flags and then he proved before this season that he’s not changed. Being fair to them, they’re trying to give this every opportunity to work as they do have a lot invested in Winston.
Not to mention, he does show some flashes of being a good pro. He delivers a good deep ball and can make all the reads. The problem is the fear that he will step out of bounds again. There’s also concern that he won’t stop the turnover problem that has plagued him throughout his short career either.
In an effort to help him succeed, the Bucs add a big left tackle in Jonah Williams. The Alabama blindside protector becomes the second offensive lineman to hear his name called in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft and should be a starter for the next 10-plus years. For Tampa Bay, it helps them not only keep Winston upright but can lead to more deep balls as the better protection gives star wideout Mike Evans even more time to get downfield.
