2019 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen rises in full 2-round mock

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
With the No. 7 pick in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars add a quarterback in Drew Lock from Missouri. Of course, Jags fans may have reservations about a Missouri signal-caller considering how it turned out when they drafted Blaine Gabbert, but Lock is nothing like Gabbert.
Gabbert climbed boards because of his workout and people fell in love with his size. With Lock that’s not the case as he’s been a player to watch for a while. Not only is he the real deal, but Aaron Gershon of With the First Pick seems to think Lock resembles potential MVP Patrick Mahomes.
"“As talked about there’s a lot of Pat Mahomes in Drew Lock’s game. NFL teams are going to be scouring the NFL Draft trying to find a player like Mahomes, and some team is sure to see that in Drew Lock. Lock is a gun-slinger who can throw the ball further than nearly anyone. He also is extremely accurate when in the pocket similarly to Mahomes. If Lock can become better on the run and under pressure he truly can be a clone of Mahomes who can make a throw in any pressure situation.” — Gershon, With the First Pick"
That may be a lofty goal to place on Lock, but he is a strong-armed gunslinger who should be a stud at the next level. The Jags will be more than happy with him as their new leader under center.
