NFL Playoffs 2019: Schedule for Divisional Round
The Divisional Round for the 2019 NFL Playoffs is set, so we look ahead to the four games and the schedule on Saturday and Sunday.
For anyone expecting the 2019 NFL Playoffs to get off to a mundane start, they were sorely disappointed on Saturday and Sunday in the Wild Card Round. Three of the four winners in the first round of action in the postseason were the lower seeds, none of them more exciting than the last as the Philadelphia Eagles needed big-time drama to punch their ticket to the Divisional Round.
In a back-and-forth game, the Eagles took a one-point lead over the Chicago Bears with less than a minute to play. After a long return by Tarik Cohen and then two big throws to Allen Robinson, though, Chicago was well within field goal range. Cody Parkey first made an attempt, but a timeout was called. And when he had to kick it again, it went off the upright, giving Philly the win.
The other two lower-seeds to win were, of course, the Indianapolis Colts over the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers, who topped the Baltimore Ravens. The Dallas Cowboys, victors over the Seattle Seahawks, were the only high-seed to advance to the Divisional Round. The madness of the NFL Playoffs is just getting started, and it’s beautiful.
With that in mind, let’s look ahead to the Divisional Round and the schedule for the second weekend of the 2019 NFL Playoffs:
- Saturday, Jan. 12, 4:35 p.m. ET: Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs (NBC)
- Saturday, Jan. 12, 8:15 p.m. ET: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams (FOX)
- Sunday, Jan 13, 1:05 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots (CBS)
- Sunday, Jan. 13, 4:40 p.m. ET: Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints (FOX)
That’s the way the Divisional Round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs will shake out.
Given that the lower seed won in three of the four matchups on Wild Card Weekend, the NFL Playoffs could be set to get absolutely wild. Can Nick Foles continue his magic with the Eagles in the postseason? Are the Chiefs and Rams offenses made for the playoffs? Will the Colts and Chargers stay upset-minded? We’ll find out soon enough.
