Doug Baldwin

Baldwin has to go on this list because he’s a former Pro Bowler who finished the year with less than 50 receiving yards per game. However, I can hardly fault Baldwin for struggling in 2018. This season has been rough on him. He had to endure so many nagging injuries, I’m actually impressed he was able to produce as much as he did. That being said, this was still an off year for Baldwin who was looking to make his third straight Pro Bowl.

In an article published in late December by NBC Sports’ Aaron Fentress, Baldwin described just how rough this season was.

"“This year has been absolutely hell. I’ve been…oh my goodness. We don’t have enough time for that. It’s been hell. But I’m so grateful to be healthy enough to be on the field with my teammates to celebrate victories and just enjoying playing football again, just like a kid.”"

Baldwin started 13 games this season finished the season with 50 receptions, 618 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. For the four-year stretch from 2014-17, he averaged 78 receptions, 1,003 receiving yards, and eight receiving touchdowns. Tyler Lockett filled a lot of that production this year, but Seattle would love to have Baldwin and Lockett at one hundred percent and on the field together.

Baldwin will be turning 31 next season. His contract ends after the 2020 season and by then he’ll be 32 and likely out of his prime. That will be an interesting contract decision when the time comes, but for now, Baldwin will join the list of players looking at bouncing back next season.
