After suffering a gut-wrenching loss to end a dream season, the Chicago Bears face some tough decisions to regroup and have a better season in 2019.

It’s been a few days, but the Chicago Bears‘ Wild Card Round loss still stings. It’s still unbelievable that the season ended so abruptly. Fans expected a long run and it appeared that the Bears were about to at least get past the first round, but a blocked field goal ended all their dreams.

The Bears now face some time of facing “what ifs” in that playoff game. They cannot dwell on that too much, however. While this was a great season and the roster is strong, there are needs that have to be addressed. There are decisions that need to be made on soon-to-be free agents. Does general manager Ryan Pace opt to keep his players or does he decide to go elsewhere?

The Bears could go through the draft, but they don’t have a pick until the third round. Going through free agency will cost some money, but they are in good fiscal shape even before the salary cap increases for the 2019 season.

In addition to roster moves, the Bears may face some coaching decisions as well. As well as the team played, other teams will go after Bears coaches. Those other teams are in the same position the Bears were in a year ago. They see the quick success Chicago had and they want the same experience. Now Pace might need to fill open coach positions.

Pace had the most important offseason in recent Chicago Bears history last year and he hit it out of the park. He overhauled the roster and turned a 5-11 team in 2017 to a 12-4 team and NFC North champions.

The way the season ended left a bad taste in our mouths. However, Pace did a fantastic job of turning the team around in just one season. This offseason, he has some unfinished business.

Here is what Pace and the Chicago Bears face this offseason.
