After losing in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, we look at five moves the Dallas Cowboys must make to improve before the 2019 season

The loss will sting fans for a while as the Dallas Cowboys were unable to get the job done in the Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams. The 30-22 defeat was tough, especially considering the way Dallas was completely pushed around.

A team that prides themselves on toughness went into L.A. and simply couldn’t stop the run — or establish it on their own end. Both sides of the line of scrimmage belonged to the Rams had two running backs top 100-yards and finished with 273 on the day. Dallas, on the other hand, managed just 50 yards total.

Throughout the game, both C.J. Anderson and Todd Gurley ran through massive holes and gained four-to-five yards before a Dallas defender even approached tackling range. As for Dallas, Ezekiel Elliott had a hoard of defenders closing in on him as soon as he had the ball in his hands.

In the end, the truth is Dallas overachieved following a 3-5 start and fell to a better team. That won’t make it any easier to swallow, but the good news is this is a young team and they can continue to compete in the playoffs as long as they learn from this season and continue to grow.

With that goal in mind, we look ahead to the 2019 offseason and discuss five things the Cowboys must do in order to be a better team next year.
