Round 5: Will Harris, S, Boston College

After taking Malik Hooker in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Colts have a stud in the making at free safety, but need a counterpart with him on the back end for the future. Will Harris has the potential to be a perfect complement for that. Though Harris is not an adept coverage safety, he’s tremendous when he comes down into the box and defends the run and the middle of the defense. That pairs well with Hooker and could prove highly valuable for the Colts defense.

Round 6: Jazz Ferguson, WR, Northwestern State

The brother of coveted edge rusher prospect Jaylon Ferguson and a former LSU player, Jazz Ferguson comes out of the FCS with a lot of intrigue. While at Northwestern State, the wideout with prototypical NFL size and traits proved to be a dominant force in terms of his production. He has character questions as he was suspended at LSU, which led to his transfer. Even still, Ferguson has immense upside and, if the character checks out, he could be a Day 3 steal for a team like the Colts to bolster receiver depth.

Round 7: Greg Gaines, DT, Washington

When you get to the seventh round of the draft, you’re basically either taking fliers on players or looking for guys that can contribute situationally. That’s what Greg Gaines out of Washington would be, adding rotational depth to their defensive line.

The big-bodied (322 pounds) Gaines can be a force up front against the run, though he offers little as an interior pass rusher. Still, picking up an early down run stopper in the final round would behoove a team like the Colts that needs depth.
