29. Taven Bryan, DT, Jacksonville Jaguars

2018 Stats: 20 total tackles, 1 sack

Honestly, there wasn’t a lot to go off of when it came to Taven Bryan. Buried on a depth chart that was loaded with talent, he had a hard time finding any meaningful snaps throughout the season. It wasn’t until the last few games that we saw a significant amount of Bryan on Sundays.

With that said, what he did show when he was on the field gave Jacksonville Jaguars fans some reason not to hate the pick. Sure, the team may have left Lamar Jackson on the board in order to draft a player at a position already bursting at the seams with talent. However, it wasn’t all horrible for the No. 29 overall pick.

I mean, he got a sack right? Drafted as a pass-rushing interior defender, Bryan at least managed one quarterback takedown before his rookie season was over. It came in the final game of the year against one of the worst offensive lines in the league, but still.

Okay, let’s talk straight. Bryan’s rookie campaign sucked, although it was due in large part to the lack of opportunities afforded to him by the Jaguars. Then again, if he was really worth a first-round pick, shouldn’t he have given Jacksonville reason to put him on the field? Just saying…
