Chicago Bears: Reviewing the 2018 dream season

For the Chicago Bears, the 2018 season ended in a nightmare. Even so, it was a dream season. Here is a review of that season so we could remember that.

The 2018 season didn’t end the way the Chicago Bears and the fans wanted. A double doink prevented them from making the long playoff run they expected. That, however, should not delete all the good that happened this season. After winning just 14 games over the past three seasons, the team won 12 games this season.

Yes, the pain is still raw. The difficult loss is still on everyone’s mind and all the good that came out of the season can be forgotten. This was a dream season. General manager Ryan Pace revamped the roster and we got excited about taking a step forward.

A seven-to-nine-win season and playoff contention would have been great Instead, the Bears won 12 games on their way to going from four consecutive last-place finishes to becoming NFC North champions. Doing that so quickly is an amazing accomplishment.

The Bears went from being irrelevant to being a strong team. The roster is full of young, athletic players who should give the team a chance to win for the foreseeable future. This is a team on the rise.

To see how well this team was constructed, we need to go to the offseason. Pace and the rest of the front office did a great job of plugging most of the holes on the team, including coaches. That is saying a lot because there were so many holes that if the team was a boat it would have sunk already. He did that while having an eye on the salary cap. The Bears are still in a position to be major players in free agency, and this great season helps their case even more.
