2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray surprisingly goes No. 1
By Dan Parzych
11. Cincinnati Bengals: Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida
Early on in the regular season, the Cincinnati Bengals seemed like they were finally going to be a serious contender again in the AFC before everything went downhill for the most part.
Even more surprising, after 16 seasons that also consisted of going 0-7 in the playoffs, the Bengals finally made the overdue decision to move on from Marvin Lewis, who should have been fired a long time ago.
Now, all eyes will be on the next head coach in Cincinnati to see if they have what it takes to return to that competitive level since the talent has always seemed to be there on both sides of the football, making the last three seasons even more frustrating to witness.
When it comes to the upcoming draft, there are a few different areas the Bengals could focus on in the first round, and while the defensive line may not seem like a top priority, Jachai Polite could be too good to pass on if given the opportunity.
Polite’s physical style of play makes it seem like he would make a great addition for Cincinnati’s defense, and seeing him record 11 sacks as a junior makes it seem like he’s going to hit the ground running at the NFL level.
