14. Atlanta Falcons: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

What on earth happened to the Atlanta Falcons this season? For a team that seemed like an early favorite in the NFC to make a run at the Super Bowl, the Falcons came up way short in their goals by finishing with a 7-9 record, leaving them plenty to think about in the offseason.

Normally, Atlanta receives heavy praise for the offense Matt Ryan has to work with thanks to Julio Jones continuing to prove he’s a top wideout in the NFL, but also the defense seemed to be on the rise during the previous two seasons leading up to 2018.

In fact, when looking at how impressive the defense looked in the playoffs last January, many expected the unit to play a key role in helping the Falcons accomplish their goals of earning a trip to the Super Bowl for a second time in three seasons.

Clearly, Atlanta has a few adjustments to make on the defensive side of the football, and when it comes to their first pick in this year’s draft, Ed Oliver seems like the kind of player who could be a difference maker.

Oliver has the proper strength that could provide a much-needed boost to the Falcons’ run defense, and when seeing how competitive the NFC South is expected to be once again, they’re going to need it.
