8. Detroit Lions: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU

Expectations were high for Matt Patricia entering his first season as head coach for the Detroit Lions when looking at how successful he was all those years as defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, but unfortunately the team ended up being a work in progress.

Seeing how the Lions would go on to only win six games, it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of changes are made over the next few months to make sure the results are better in 2019, especially on the defensive side of the football.

Matthew Stafford is normally the reason behind whether Detroit is an actual contender or not, but there’s no question the defense needs to step up in a big way when seeing how competitive the NFC North is expected to be once again.

While the Lions could certainly go with a defensive end early on in the first round, a cornerback like Greedy Williams would be a great rookie for Patricia to work with. When looking at all of the talented receivers in the NFC North, Williams joining Detroit would give the LSU star an opportunity to prove himself worthy against some of the best in the league with his set of skills.
