2. New Orleans Saints (14-3)

Overview: Perhaps the fact that head coach Sean Payton rested some key players in Week 17 combined with the bye was one reason the NFC South champions were down 14-0 to the Eagles in the first quarter last Sunday. But the Saints settled in, picked off Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles twice (both by cornerback Marshon Lattimore) and the club wound up amassing 420 yards of total offense while scoring the final 20 points of the game.

Including the 20-14 win, New Orleans has allowed just 16.6 points per game in their last nine outings — all of this after giving up 35 points in that 10-point win over the Rams in Week 9 at the Superdome.

Postseason History: The Big Easy will host the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 2009. That year, Payton’s club came away with a 31-28 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings on its way to a Super Bowl XLIV victory over the Indianapolis Colts in South Florida, 31-17.

This Week’s Opponent: The Saints and Los Angeles Rams clash for the third time in two years, with the home team prevailing in each instance. In Week 9 at the Superdome, New Orleans handed Sean McVay’s team, 8-0 entering the contest, its first loss of 2018 courtesy of a 45-35 triumph.
