Oakland Raiders: 7-Round 2019 mock draft lands stud prospects
Round 4, Pick 4: Miles Sanders, RB, Penn State
Replacing the superstar that was Saquon Barkley in the Penn State backfield was certainly an unenviable task for Miles Sanders, but he actually took up the mantle quite well. The running back managed north of 1,200 yards on the season and showed real flashes of big-play ability throughout a tough Big Ten schedule and really put himself on the map as a draft prospect.

The Raiders need youth at running back after trotting out Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin largely this past season. While a mid-round pick, Sanders could be an every-down back that many people are sleeping on. While he may not be Barkley, he has tremendous athleticism and quickness, but packs a punch when taking on contact. He needs work with his vision and decision-making when he gets the ball, but Oakland would get a real weapon in the fourth round with this pick.
Round 5, Pick 3: Khalil Hodge, LB, Buffalo
The linebacker play in Oakland has been a concern for some time and there have been cries in years past for the Raiders to address it in the early rounds of the NFL Draft. Heck, there could be those same calls again when they look at the 2019 class. However, with decent-enough players like Marquel Lee and Tahir Whitehead at the position, they wait a bit and get a potential sleeper in the fifth round with Khalil Hodge.
Hodge was a monster at Buffalo — the “birthplace” of Khalil Mack, ironically — with over 400 tackles in three seasons. There are concerns about his size as he might be a little light, but it’s clear the linebacker is a crazy athlete with sideline-to-sideline speed to spare and someone who can make plays in the open field. That’d be a valuable addition to this Oakland defense in its current state.
