The New Orleans Saints lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game. We now look ahead with this 2019 Mock Draft.

The playoffs have ended for the New Orleans Saints as they fell to the Los Angeles Rams in overtime during the NFC Championship game. While all losses hurt, this one will stick with the Saints longer than most — and that’s saying something considering they lost on a last-second 61-yard pass last year that was dubbed the “Minneapolis Miracle.”

While that season ended at the hands of Minnesota Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, this latest loss is being blamed on the officials. That’s because there was a blatant pass interference missed late in the game that would have given New Orleans a fresh set of downs with less than two minutes to play.

On the play in question, Drew Brees threw the ball on third-and-1o to Tommylee Lewis who took a hit to the helmet well before the ball arrived. They had to settle for a field goal which made the score 23-20. The Rams then moved into range and tied things up, sending the game to overtime.

New Orleans had a shot, but a Brees pass was intercepted and a ling field goal did them in. There were blown opportunities, but nothing hurt as much as the missed call — although, there were bad calls throughout the game so it almost felt like that was coming.

While the team is understandably upset, we try and look ahead to the coming offseason with this 2019 7-Round NFL Mock Draft for the New Orleans Saints as they try and reload their roster for another run next season.
