Arizona could take Dwayne Haskins

Dwayne Haskins is an interesting option as the first overall pick. New head coach Kliff Kingsbury might relish the thought of having two youngsters on the roster. Kingsbury could utilize the Philadelphia approach when it comes to the quarterback position.

Where would Philadelphia be without their backup quarterback, Nick Foles? Rosen has a season under his belt and would remain the starter. Haskins would be available in case of injury.

Haskins will need a year to fully mature as an NFL quarterback. He played two seasons at Ohio State after redshirting in 2016. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy after his first full season as the starting quarterback.

Haskins stands 6-3, weighing 220 pounds. Physically, he and Rosen are very similar. Haskins had very good statistics at Ohio State. In his career, Haskins threw for 5,408 yards with 54 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. His pass completion percentage was 69.8. Kingsbury could create special packages for Haskins throughout the upcoming season.

If Arizona takes Haskins first, they might consider trading him to another team in exchange for multiple picks. They could deal Rosen away if they feel Haskins is one of those can’t miss, generational players.
