Arizona could draft Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray might become the first player to be drafted in the first round in two major sports. Murray was taken by baseball’s Oakland A’s in the first round of 2018. He might get selected by Arizona in the first round. The question is, which will he play: baseball or football?

Murray is a product of the same collegiate offense that Kingsbury ran. Patrick Mahomes played for Kingsbury and is doing well. Seems like Murray is the perfect, ideal type of quarterback to fit the Kingsbury offense.

Oklahoma’s head coach, Lincoln Riley, and Kingsbury both coached Baker Mayfield. Mayfield and Murray are the only consecutive quarterbacks from the same school to win back to back Heisman Trophies. However, Murray is not the prototypical NFL quarterback.

Ideally, NFL teams like for quarterbacks to stand over 6-3. Murray might be 5-10, which he’s listed at with Oklahoma. Also, he might be the fastest quarterback to have played the game. It’s going to be interesting to see his 40 yard dash time at the NFL Combine.

Would Arizona decide to implement Kingsbury’s collegiate air raid offense? If so, wouldn’t Murray be the guy to drive the offense? Hopefully, he would be able to absorb the hits from opposing pass rushers.
