23. Houston Texans: David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin

Second-year quarterback DeShaun Watson may have to a few weeks to look like himself again after a torn ACL ended his rookie season, but he had quite the year for the Houston Texans nevertheless. While erasing a 0-3 start and winning the AFC South, Watson finished 11th in the NFL with 4,165 yards. He was 12th in touchdowns with 26 but added another nine on the ground.

Watson was also very careful with the football as he had just nine interceptions on the season. As good as all that was, there was one stat he finished even higher on — times sacked. Watson was taken down a league-leading 62 times last season. That’s not only going to hurt their offense, but it could shorten his career if the Texans don’t figure out how to limit the hits on their star player.

While Watson is a mobile quarterback who often gets himself hit trying to extend plays, the truth is he doesn’t shoulder all the blame for that number. Houston’s offensive line was beyond bad for them in 2018 and needs to add some more talent to get better. Here, they address the issue with Wisconsin’s David Edwards.

The badgers turn out one solid blocker after another and Edwards looks to be their next big star. His presence will allow Watson more time in the pocket and keeping him clean will only make this team even more dangerous.
