27. Oakland Raiders (via Dallas Cowboys): Deandre Baker, CB, Georgia

With their final pick in the first round, the Oakland Raiders return to the defensive line here. This selection comes courtesy of the Dallas Cowboys, who traded the pick to Oakland for wideout Amari Cooper. The young receiver went from an afterthought with Oakland to one of the more impressive players with Dallas — and found himself in the 2019 Pro Bowl for his efforts.

With their last pick — from Chicago — addressing the hole left by Cooper, and their first filling a hole left by Khalil Mack, the Raiders finally go after some of their other needs by taking a massive solid coverage corner in DeAndre Baker from the University of Georgia.

Baker may have some limitations in his coverage ability, but the Raiders could use his ball skills in a secondary that was less than impressive in 2018. There were also rumors during the season that the team could look to move Gareon Conley, their former first-round pick. He wasn’t selected by Jon Gruden, and he’s shown a knack for giving up on players he has no investment in. Adding someone like Baker would help if they do again explore that option.
