2. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State

With Quinnen Williams going first overall, the San Francisco 49ers race to the podium with their card in hand to select Nick Bosa. The Ohio State defensive end is easily the best edge rushing prospect in the class, and he’s exactly what the 49ers need.

NFL Spin Zone’s own Cody Williams recently discussed this being the primary need for the Niners and even suggested they move up to the No. 1 overall spot to make sure they land Bosa.

"“The key in all of this, however, is that the biggest need that the 49ers have entering the NFL Draft is at edge rusher. If Bosa does go No. 1, that will leave them in a tough position where taking an edge rusher would be a reach. Josh Allen out of Kentucky is going to be a good NFL player, but he doesn’t have the same pedigree or future as Bosa at the next level — again, the Ohio State product is just that good.” — Williams, NFL Spin Zone"

In this mock, they 49ers luck out. Bosa is exactly what this defense needs to make everyone’s job just a little easier. Adding him, and getting Jimmy Garoppolo back to full health, should get them back to playing competitive football.
