5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have said the right things about trying to give Jameis Winston one more season as the quarterback, but that could change with a new coach joining them in Bruce Arians. While it’s true Arians could get more out of Winston, he could also prefer a guy who doesn’t have the baggage — or propensity to throw to the wrong team.

This doesn’t mean Tampa Bay goes out and just drafts any quarterback out of desperation to replace Winston, but should the top-rated prospect in Dwayne Haskins fall to them, they have to pull the trigger.

Haskins was on fire for Ohio State, finishing with 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns. If there is any knock on him at all, it’s the fact he started just one full season for the Buckeyes. This could end up meaning he needs some time to develop, but the same was said of Mitch Tribusky who started just one season and North Carolina. Trubisky ended up starting as a rookie, and the same could happen for Haskins.

As for Winston, the fact that he’s going into year five with no new contract, has several questions about him on and off the field, and was benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick tells you all you need to know. Haskins is clearly the better option.
