6. New York Giants: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

With Tampa Bay selecting Dwayne Haskins at No. 5 the New York Giants go for the next best quarterback by taking Drew Lock. While they can say all they want that Eli Manning has some good years left in him, the truth is the Giants need a new starting quarterback.

Manning isn’t what he used to be and it shows in the big moments. He can put up plenty of yards, but when his team needs big conversions, he just doesn’t seem to have it anymore. That’s why they need to turn the page on the two-time Super Bowl winner.

They do well for themselves landing Lock, who compares favorably to Patrick Mahomes, according to Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com.

"“I see a lot of similarities to Patrick Mahomes when he was coming out of Texas Tech. Both guys have big arms and move around really well. They can extend plays with their athleticism and fit balls into tiny windows. However, like Mahomes, Lock needs to be more judicious with the football and cut down on the mistakes that are a result of overaggressiveness.” — Jeremiah, NFL.com"

Putting the strong-armed kid in the same field as running back Saquon Barkley and receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would give this offense a much-needed shot in the arm.
