7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

A third quarterback in a row comes off the board as the Jacksonville Jaguars go out and replace Blake Bortles. After getting to the AFC Championship game following the 2017 season, Bortles and the Jags took a massive step backward this season.

Bortles even found himself on the bench late in the year as head coach Doug Marrone went with Cody Kessler instead. He didn’t fare much better but they simply have to have a better option this year. And they find that in a fast-riser in this mock as Kyler Murray climbs into the top-10.

The 2018 Heisman winner was electric at Oklahoma putting up 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns through the air. He added another 1,001 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. After that great season, he then debated about entering the NFL Draft or going to play pro baseball. Eventually, he decided on football, but still has detractors due to his size.

With NFL offenses figuring out how to use smaller quarterbacks — as well as more mobile ones — it’s fair to think someone will take a chance on him early. That someone here is Jacksonville, who lands themselves a massive star.
