11. Cooks catches two passes of 40+ yards

Losing Sammy Watkins in the offseason to free agency put the Rams in a tough position since the speedster was a key part of the passing game in 2017, although it was all worth it in the long run since the team would eventually upgrade with Brandin Cooks.

Despite Los Angeles being Cooks’ third team in three years, the Rams felt confident enough in his ability to immediately become a top target for Jared Goff in the passing game, which is part of the reason they were willing to reward him with a hefty extension before even playing a single game.

Around this time last year, Cooks was preparing for the Super Bowl as a member of the Patriots, but unfortunately he was knocked out of the game early on due to a concussion.

Assuming he manages to stay healthy this time around, Cooks will be looking to face his former team for a second game in a row after helping knock out the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship.

New England may feel confident in being familiar with Cooks’ style of play, but facing former teams always brings out the best in some players. For Goff, the Rams quarterback would love nothing more than to be able to connect on a few deep bombs with one of his favorite receivers in Cooks during this one.
