7. Gurley tops NFC Championship production on first drive

For whatever reason, Todd Gurley ended up having one of his most disappointing performances at the worst time during the NFC Championship, although the most important factor is Los Angeles still managed to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Once again, this was another example of just how valuable the signing of C.J. Anderson was back in December since changes are the Rams never would have defeated the Saints without the veteran, but at least Gurley should be ready to go in the Super Bowl when it matters the most.

To say Gurley has established himself as a touchdown machine over the last two seasons would be a huge understatement after the former Georgia star has worked his way into the end zone 40 times during the regular season.

However, after getting off to a rough start in the NFC Championship, Sean McVay didn’t use his star running back as much, and he finished the game with just four carries for 10 yards with a touchdown.

Against the Patriots, these kinds of numbers simply won’t cut it for Los Angeles, and the best way for McVay to make sure Gurley avoids another rough outing is to make sure he gets heavily involved early on.
