Super Bowl 53: 20 Bold predictions for Patriots vs. Rams
By Dan Parzych
1. Goff earns MVP honors
Coming out of California, there was plenty of hype surrounding Jared Goff heading into the 2016 NFL Draft, as many believed he had what it takes to one day develop into a top quarterback in the league.
Goff’s rookie campaign was rough for numerous reasons that weren’t entirely his fault, but thanks to the hiring of Sean McVay that resulted in an improved offensive line along with stronger receiving corps, the Rams quarterback has shined over the last two seasons.
Earning a Super Bowl title during his third NFL season would be an amazing accomplishment for a quarterback like Goff who almost didn’t seem worthy of being the answer two years ago.
Taking down a team like the Patriots with their history of being quite familiar in playing this time of year isn’t going to be easy, but if Goff can find a way to shine on offense that puts the Rams in strong position to win the Super Bowl, chances are he will be a favorite to win MVP.
Even more exciting, a win by Goff and Los Angeles could result in McVay’s team becoming part of the MVP conversation. But before jumping too far ahead, Goff and the Rams are fully focused on making sure they take down the Patriots first to help this dream become more of a reality.
