18. Rams, Patriots combine for 40+ points first half

Could the Super Bowl end up being a shootout? As great as it can be to watch a good defensive battle, it’s safe to assume that most football fans would prefer to witness a back-and-forth shootout between the two teams, which could very well happen.

While Tom Brady is fortunate enough to work with a handful of running backs along with a passing game consisting of Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, Jared Goff happens to be in the same boat.

Not only does Goff have one of the league’s top running backs in Todd Gurley to help take some of the pressure off under center, but the Rams have done an amazing job providing him with a strong receiving corps led by Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods.

With all this in mind, there’s a good chance both offenses could come out firing come Sunday once the Super Bowl gets underway, and if the first half consisted of numerous trips into the end zone from each party, no one would be surprised at all.

If anything, this would only help build the case towards living up to the hype of being a high-scoring event that football fans would truly enjoy watching, no matter who they’re rooting for.
