Looking at the New York Jets’ team needs and at the 2019 NFL Draft, the team addresses multiple holes in their roster in this seven round mock draft.

Coming off of a 4-12 finish in 2018, the New York Jets own the third overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft for the second year in a row. Last year, the Jets traded up with the Indianapolis Colts in order to obtain their future franchise quarterback, Sam Darnold. This season, the Jets are most likely looking at the defensive side of the ball with that pick.

Entering the season with suspect hires of head coach Adam Gase and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the Jets will be looking to draft well in order to give themselves a boost entering 2019. Williams, and the entire organization for that matter, will be looking to improve a defense that surrendered the third most points and seventh most yards of any team in 2018.

Jordan Jenkins and Henry Anderson led the team in sacks with only seven sacks, so adding an elite pass-rusher must be a top priority for the Jets.

The Jets have an opportunity to land a big time player in the first round, but must draft well as they are without both second and fifth-round picks, totaling only six picks in the 2019 draft. Names such as Nick Bosa, Quinnen Williams, Josh Allen, Clellin Ferrell and Ed Oliver sit atop the draft and simple mathematics state that at least two of them will be available after the first both the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers make their selections.

Noted: The Jets do not have a second or sixth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
