The Dallas Cowboys made a splash last season by trading for Amari Cooper, if they want to make more deals in 2019 here are five potential targets

In recent seasons, the Dallas Cowboys front office has refrained from the “splash moves” in free agency and trade. Much of that was dictated by their cap space as they had some big-money players on their roster such as Tony Romo and Dez Bryant.

However, they shifted somewhat from that plan in 2018. Dallas had gone out in free agency and tried to make a huge move as they offered a hefty contract to wideout Sammy Watkins. They were unable to land him, as Watkins chose the Kansas City Chiefs, but the front office was still taking their shot.

They did the same in the trade market as they first tried to land safety Earl Thomas from the Seattle Seahawks. That plan fell through, but the Cowboys still improved their team via trade when they gave up a first-round pick to get Amari Cooper from the Oakland Raiders.

Cooper ended up being exactly what they needed to turn their season around as they went from a 3-4 club before him, to a 7-2 team with him on the field.

With all that being said, there’s a chance the Cowboys could once again look to make a move for someone via trade. Whether that be a game-changer like Cooper, or maybe a role player like Tavon Austin who they also traded for in 2018, the Boys could stand to put a little more talent on the field ahead of 2019. Here, are five players they could potentially target.
