29. New York Jets

Was it frustrating to watch the New York Jets win four games all season while finishing at the bottom of the AFC East? Of course it was, what team wouldn’t be upset over results like this?

However, as disappointing as this was to see for a team like the Jets, the good news is after all the years trying to find a quarterback to potentially build the franchise around, they seem to finally have an answer in Sam Darnold.

As soon as New York traded up to the No. 3 spot in the NFL Draft last spring, it seemed to become clear that a quarterback was going to be in play for the first round, and unlike previous quarterbacks they gave a shot to, Darnold actually seems to have potential.

Originally, the Jets seemed to be leaning towards letting Darnold learn from the sidelines as a rookie while playing behind Josh McCown, but thanks to an impressive preseason for the rookie, that plan quickly changed for New York.

Like most rookie quarterbacks, Darnold saw plenty of struggles on offense for the Jets, but from a long-term perspective, this early experience should pay off in a big way. Now that New York seems confident in Darnold being the quarterback they’ve spent years waiting for, it’s time to make sure they surround him with the proper offense.
