Round 3, Pick 3: Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

Richard Sherman signed with San Francisco after he was cut by the Seattle Seahawks and played solid in the 14 games that he played in the red and gold. On the other side of the field, however, play was substantially subpar. Ahkello Witherspoon started across from Sherman and ended his second season playing 14 games before getting injured and grading out at a measly 44.9 according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

Rock Ya-Sin, standing at a towering 6-2, finished his one and only season as a started with Temple two interceptions and an impressive twelve passes defended. To help his cause, Ya-Sin turned heads in Mobile at the Senior Bowl and was one of the standout performers of the week. If he tests as an elite athlete at the Combine, he will continue to turn heads and hear his name talked about even more.

The Niners have $60 million in cap space and are a very appealing destination for free agents to sign, so it is possible the players such as Ronald Darby or Bradley Roby could fill the void opposite Sherman. However, adding a young talent in the top half of the draft is a solid option for Lynch and company to pursue.
