Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

In March of 2018, the Raiders signed free agent safety Marcus Gilchrist to a one-year deal while also rostering Karl Joseph to play next to him. While Gilchrist’s contract has expired, there is uncertainty as to whether or not the team wants to retain the services of Joseph as well.

Cutting bait with Joseph would not be a team-friendly as they would have to eat almost $4 million without seeing any money freed up in cap space. Regardless of whether or not Joseph returns, they still find a glaring hole next from him.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix could be looking at his third team in a matter of months after being traded from the Green Bay Packers to Washington for a fourth round pick; he now hits the open market. The former first round pick Pro-Bowl safety is only 26 and will be a very appealing player once the market opens.

While he could have been distracted by the trade during his contract year, Clinton-Dix remained focus and put together one of his best seasons as a pro. He finished his 2018 campaign with 93 tackles, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

In order to obtain the services of Clinton-Dix, it would cost the Raiders a pretty penny, but as previously stated, Oakland has the money to blow with potential for that number to continue to increase. Two years ago, the Baltimore Ravens gave then free agent safety Tony Jefferson a four-year deal worth $8.5 million yearly; Clinton-Dix could be looking at a similar deal this summer.
