G Rodger Saffold

While Brian Winters showed flashes of a quality starting offensive lineman in the NFL, Spencer Long and Jonotthan Harrison struggled mightily in 2018, leading even the most novice football fans to realize that an upgrade needs to be made to the interior of the Jets’ offensive line. In fact, the changes have already begun as the Jets released Long after just one season with the team.

With 2019 being his 10th season in the league, Rodger Saffold will most likely be looking for his next team as the Los Angeles Rams find themselves in a bind with the salary cap. Playing some of his best football over the past few seasons, Saffold could be a cost-efficient option to plug a hole on the offensive line for the Jets.

In a week offensive line class, and due to the fact that the Jets do own a second round pick, New York will have to wait until at least the third round to draft an interior lineman as they will not be taking one with the third overall pick. Saffold would bring a battle tested and veteran presence to an otherwise and young and inexperienced team as well as give the team a proven starter day one.
