1. Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida

Ryan Kerrigan is an outstanding, underrated elite pass rusher who needs a partner in crime. Ryan Anderson and Preston Smith aren’t two names that scare offensive lineman as pass rushers right now, and may never be.

Anderson was 2017 second-round pick with limited athletic traits and hasn’t lived up to his potential. Over his 27 games in Washington, he’s amassed just two sacks. Meanwhile, Smith is a pending free agent, along with veteran Pernell McPhee. The Redskins need an elite talent opposite Kerrigan. Florida standout Jachai Polite can be that player

When Polite is getting after the quarterback, he’s fast — really fast. His speed forces tackles to make false steps, clearing the path for him to get his target. When he engages, he has an array of moves, including the ability to rip and dip with urgency. One of his best moves is his counter spin, showing shades of Dwight Freeney, who Manusky coached in 2012.

The 6-2, 240-pound Polite isn’t scheme diverse, but the Redskins don’t need him to be. He’ll make an amazing situational rusher at the very least right out of the gate and can develop into much more. Polite won’t last until the second round. The Redskins can take him in Round 1 and allow him to wreak havoc right away.
