Jadeveon Clowney, EDGE

Jadeveon Clowney will be a highly coveted free agent this March. Clowney will carry a steep price tag. Edge pass rushers make average defenses much better. Clowney and Chandler Jones would make the Cardinals able to pressure NFC West opposing quarterbacks. Jones is the Redbirds lone legitimate threat on the edge. He needs Clowney to relieve the double teams that he routinely gets.

Arizona will have to outbid everyone for Clowney. Houston will leave no stone unturned to keep him. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported the following:

"If the Texans are unable to hammer out a blockbuster contract extension with Clowney by March 6, the deadline for NFL teams to utilize the franchise tag …, league sources not authorized to speak publicly say the Texans will designate him as their franchise player."

Hopefully the report is incorrect. Clowney would want to test the market. He should be able to name his price. He has earned a hefty pay raise. For his career, he has recorded 29 sacks. 18 of those sacks have come in the last two seasons. How good would the Arizona defense had been if Clowney was a Cardinals edge rusher?

These are three players that Arizona should strongly consider signing. They will have the cap space to shop but will they be able to seal the deals?
