Dallas Cowboys: 5 Realistic targets in 2019 NFL free agency
By Randy Gurzi
2. Adam Humphries, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Currently, any talk about a slot receiver in Big D centers around Cole Beasley, and rightfully so. No. 11 has been the Cowboys main man in the middle of the receiving corps since 2013. Undrafted out of SMU in 2012, Beasley worked his way into a trusted role and is coming off a 672-yard season, but is a free agent and could be on the way out.
Recently, he did have some words about the way he was used, but that’s not why it seems likely he could be gone. Instead, it’s his age. Set to turn 30, the Cowboys have shown a reluctance to keep players of that age in years past, with Dez Bryant being the latest example.

With that being said, Dallas could look to the draft to find his replacement, but even with as good as Beasley was for them, it took until his second season to become a valid option in their offense. If they don’t feel like having to groom a replacement, they could make a move in free agency for a younger player who is coming off a better season in Adam Humphries of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Often forgotten about with Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, O.J. Howard, and Chris Godwin on the team, Humphries has been a model of consistency for the past three seasons for Tampa Bay. In 2018, he had 76 catches for 816 yards and five scores — all of which were career highs.
With Michael Gallup emerging as a solid deep threat opposite Amari Cooper, the addition of someone like Humphries would give the Boys one of the most impressive young receiving corps in the game.
