Despite owning a high pick in the upcoming draft, here are five realistic players for the San Francisco 49ers to pursue in free agency.

Due to a devastating injury to franchise quarterback Jimmy Garropolo, one of many injuries that the San Francisco 49ers suffered in the 2018 season, the team finds itself drafting in the top-five once again.

However, with Garropolo returning to the field, the second overall pick in the draft and $60 million in cap space, the Niners could be looking at a quick turnaround and potentially competing for a wild card spot as soon as next season.

Given the team’s rich history and West Coast geography, the 49ers remain an attractive landing spot for players potentially seeking a new home. In 2019, the team remains even more attractive as there is faith in young head coach Kyle Shanahan and San Francisco has money to spend. With team needs in the secondary, defensive end, and wide receiver, the 49ers have a deep list of free agents to sift through.

While huge names such as Le’Veon Bell, C.J Mosley and Ronald Darby are set to hit the market, it is realistic to expect possibly one to land in the Bay Area. Outside of that, it could be expected that the 49ers could shop in the bargain bin and search for highly productive players on short-term deals.
