The Dallas Cowboys have a talented and young roster and these 5 players could help them improve should they get more snaps in 2019

Once again, the Dallas Cowboys were unable to get past the second round of the NFL Playoffs, which led to plenty of criticism. However, a lot of the anger is pretty far off base for this current group of Cowboys.

In the past, there was some truth to the team failing to meet expectations. This is because they had a veteran quarterback in Tony Romo, an experienced receiver in Dez Bryant, and a future Hall of Fame tight end in Jason Witten. That was a pretty potent offense with many years of experience — not to mention some lofty price tags.

When they would come up short, that was frustrating due to their window being short. And we all see how short since the three above mentioned stars are no longer in Big D, and two of them are retired altogether. However, this past season’s Cowboys are in a different boat than that. These guys are incredibly young and still trending upward.

Now they’re led by many players who are still learning the NFL and had no starters over the age of 30 in the postseason. Of course, once these stars have more experience and bigger contracts, then the expectations should raise. As for now, they’re a young team that’s making some good moves and could be a threat moving forward.

As they do head into 2019, there will be plenty more young players that the Cowboys lean on for success. The usual suspects will all be counted on, but to take that next step, Dallas will need more from some players who aren’t considered stars. With all that being said, here are five players who need more playing time in 2019 as they look to continue developing their talented youth.
