When is the 2019 NFL Combine?
The 2019 NFL Combine is when many prospects for the NFL Draft get to put their tools on display, but when will the event be held this year?
There are few things in any NFL Draft process that are as exciting as the NFL Combine. While many people tend to put too much in the scouting that goes on there and the numbers, it’s still a good barometer to gauge prospects by. Athletic traits are put on display, confirming biases, casting doubts on others and adding more curiosities to the process as a whole.
Of course, there is more that goes on at the NFL Combine than just the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and so on. Though fans at home aren’t privy to seeing them, the interviews that teams have with the NFL Draft prospects are perhaps the most critical, followed closely behind the medical testing.
The argument could certainly be made that the Combine is the most crucial week in the NFL Draft process as a whole. Subsequently, fans have to be asking a simple question: When is the 2019 NFL Combine and what do I need to know?
For starters, the 2019 NFL Combine will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 26 and last through March 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. Having said that, the Combine that many fans think of, watching the athletic testing on television, will begin on March 1, lasting through March 4, and will be broadcast on NFL Network.
As for the schedule of the testing with on-field workouts that we’ll see on NFL Network, that will go as follows. Running backs, offensive linemen and special teamers will go on March 1, followed by quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends on March 2. After that, defensive linemen and linebackers take the field on March 3 and the defensive backs will wrap things up on March 4.
While we may not see everything that we need to at the NFL Combine, it’s still a fun experience to overreact to and be left in awe over. If you’re a draft-head who loves this time of year, be sure to get ready for the end of February and beginning of March.
