The Chicago Bears will be looking for offensive linemen this offseason. They may choose to go with a young prospect in the draft. Here are some options.

Last year, the Chicago Bears faced one of their most important offseasons in recent memory. They needed to overhaul the team to reverse the negativity surrounding the team over the past half decade or so. General manager Ryan Pace and the rest of the front office hit a grand slam, turning a team that finished in last place the last four seasons into the division champs with a record of 12-4.

Now, after a great season, Pace and the Bears need to add some touches to the team to make it even better. There are some positions that they need to shore up in order to make that happen. One of those areas is at the offensive line.

The Bears had good offensive line play in 2018. Cody Whitehair and Charles Leno went to the Pro Bowl. Bobby Massie, who at one point was a punching bag for fans, had a stellar season. The Chicago Bears rewarded him with a contract extension.

Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand had a lot to do with the success. Everywhere he goes, including a previous stint in the same position with the Bears, he has success with his players. That continued in 2018.

The Bears have a big decision to make on fan-favorite Kyle Long. Yes, he is great when on the field, but he can’t stay on the field consistently because of injuries. The Bears can save themselves $5.5 million, money sorely needed since they need salary cap space.

The Bears could go through free agency to get a lineman, especially one to replace Long if need be, but that could get expensive. They could also go the draft route. That way is cheaper to go. The team retains the player’s service at a bargain price for four years. In addition, Hiestand can mold a young prospect more than a grizzled veteran who is set in his ways pretty much.

Here are five offensive linemen the Chicago Bears should target in the draft.
